This paper looks at the rational behind, and the practical aspects of, creating and supporting an ‘umbrella website’ as a fundamental core teaching tool for all Languages other than English (LOTE) secondary school curriculum materials. Although acknowledging that some ICT is currently interwoven into LOTE curriculums, this paper argues these minor additions are far from fulfilling the need of ICT in LOTE. Subject teachers are facing constant difficulties in implementing ICT activities, which will be outlined and further discussed. A program revolving around a professionally maintained website, which would fully utilize Web2 technologies, connect students to the LOTE virtual communities and maximize students’ exposure to the target language, is utterly essential in any LOTE curriculum. Students’ independent learning abilities will be enhanced and developed as they can access LOTE learning materials by themselves, from anywhere outside the classroom.
