Presentation on Friday, 9 April 2010 13:55 - 14:35 in room 209
Education.au’s Strategic ICT Advisory Service (SICTAS) was funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Education Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
The primary purpose of SICTAS was to undertake a series of studies in a broad range of areas to investigate the current and future impacts of emerging technologies and to provide strategic advice to assist policy makers to address the implications of implementation of new technologies in education and training.
The target audience for this research was senior policy advisors in the Australian Government as well as State and Territory government departments, with flow on benefits for the schools sector, vocational education and training and higher education sectors.
During 2008 – 2009, SICTAS undertook a range of activities that investigated the implications of implementing new technologies in education and training, facilitating input and testing of investigation outcomes and strategic advice across all educational sectors and all jurisdictions.
In this presentation Greg Black, CEO of Education.au will summarise the key findings of reports delivered by SICTAS.
The key reports were
• Collaboration in Teaching and Learning: the implementation of collaborative methodologies in education and training.
• Education Workforce Capability: focus on professional development for in-service teachers in the schools sector, looking at both primary and secondary schools.
