What can we do to help our students with literacy difficulties to be able to most effectively access the curriculum while building on their strengths, learning styles and helping them to reach their potential and feel successful? The secondary classroom can be a really demanding environment for a whole range of students. It can be difficult keeping up to date with the latest technological developments so we know what is out there, appropriate and most useful for our students? This presentation aims to give a brief overview of some of the most powerful, effective and easy to use multimodal technology to support teaching and learning in the area of language and literacy. You will have an opportunity to look at a range of software and tools to assist students with areas including; reading, writing, spelling, word prediction, mind mapping, study skills, text to speech and speech to text.
